If my device uses 12v 5A but i uses a 12v 8a by right it will not harm my component??

can anyone tell me wat is the max current that a ..eg. 12v 5A device can tolerate or work probably? +/- 5A or more? and.... 2nd ques how can i decrease noise that effect a signal? is there any easy way to solved...."a learning engineer...."
