World of Warcraft internet question....?

I used to play W.O.W on dial up and it worked just fine but the updates would take FOREVER!!!!..... but now i have hughes net (sattellite internet) And i want to play again but i heard that sattelite is horriblle for online gaming is this true and do you think i will still be able to play W.O.W...?
