What kind of glue should I use to attach suede to the souls of my shoes?

An acquaintance told me that I could make my own pair of ballroom dancing shoes by simply gluing suede pads on the bottom of a pair of comfortable dress shoes. I forgot what kind of glue they recommended, though.
